Linda K. Baxter, 63, of Janesville passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI following a valiant battle with cancer. Linda was born in Janesville on November 23, 1949, the daughter of William and Arlene (Albrecht) Baxter. She attended Roosevelt Elementary School and graduated from Craig High School in 1968. She received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Platteville in 1972 and a master’s degree in 1992 from National-Louis University. Linda taught for 35 years in the Janesville School System at Jackson and Lincoln elementary schools. She retired in June of 2007. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an  elder and was a choir member for many years. Linda was also a member of the American Association of University Women, the Janesville Area Retired Educators Association and the Wisconsin Retired Educators Association. Linda enjoyed bowling, going out to eat with friends and family, attending the Albrecht family reunions and traveling, especially  the trips she took to Europe with her friends.
Surviving Linda Baxter are her mother,  Arlene Baxter of Janesville, her brother, Dale W. Baxter of Sheboygan, WI, her aunt, Lorraine Dallman of Janesville, several cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Baxter on December 15, 2002. She was also preceded in death by  aunts and uncles, Agnes Albrecht , Frank Dallman, Walter (Evelyn) Albrecht and Ed (Wilma) Albrecht.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 17 North Jackson Street, Janesville with Pastor Dee Ann Woods officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation times will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 20th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of other expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Agrace HospiceCare. The Baxter family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
